Even when we laugh at Kevin in the movie Home Alone protecting his home and himself from intruders, we recognize the ingenuity of his DIY security measures.
For example, I learned how to use Christmas ornaments on the floor as a makeshift security alarm to alert me of intruders from this film. Similarly, I could use items from my shelter to accomplish the same thing.
